| Eddy Ramirez
has been performin in the the Bay Area with local bands for the last 20 years, playing in
Local clubs and Festivals, such as Cinco de Mayo, Carnaval S.F.(won 1st place when Carlos
Santana himself was the Grand Marshal), the 24th St. Fair, the Fog Festival, North Beach
festivals and several benefits to help worthy causes such as Mexico Earthquake Releif, Aid
for El Salvador and others to help the Latin community.
A self taught musician who began piano lessons at an
early age and took up the guitar after being mesmerized by the captivating sounds of the
Santana Band and Jimi Hendrix.
Eddy has opened shows for MALO and performed with the
following bands:
- Safari
- a Bay Area based nine piece ensemble combining exciting Latin Jazz-Salsa-Rock and
Afro-Cuban dance rhythms with high energy instrumental Fusion.
- Midnight Blue Latin Rock, originals and Fusion
band that featured Victor Nolasco on Timbales and Walter Guevara on keyboards and the late
Jose (Tavo) Contreras on Bass. Regulars on Broadway (Chi-Chi club) & other SF clubs
and Mecca produced Street Fairs.
- Omega Cumbia, Bolero and Top 40's band that
performed around the bay area. Featuring vocalist Carlos Alberto of "Sabado
Gigante" fame.
- Diablo First "real" band in High School,
we were playing Latin Rock, 70s Top 40 and originals. We performed at dances, street
fairs, parties, benefits, weddings, and "wherever we could "jam". This band
featured life long musicians/friends Victor Nolasco on Timbales, Walter Guevara on
keyboards and Ronnie Messina on Congas.
- Eddy works professionally as a Network Engineer and is
also an instructor on the subject of Novell Networks.
